Mexico is a country of variety, with each area rich in its own food and customs and handicrafts.

Tepoztlan is surrounded by many beautiful places to visit, and depending on how long you stay, The Spanish Cat will take you to see all of them.

Each weekend we organise an excursion to a different place, whether for a day or overnight. Prices are very reasonable, usually just enough to cover travel expenses.

Excursions are led by experienced guides who will not only show you these beautiful regions but explain their history and importance. Seeing behind the obvious will give you a deeper insight into Mexican culture.

There is the traditional silver mining town of Taxco, whitewashed houses with terracotta tile rooves cascading down a steep mountain, small winding cobblestone streets taking you through little markets and passed stalls of jewellery and handicrafts and of course delicious Mexican food.

There are aquatic parks with water slides and pools and springs of natural water heated underground known for their healing properties.

There are lakes and forests and of course Mexico City, with its chaos of old and new, galleries and museums and architecture and shopping.
